Researching in Converse County WY is not an easy task. The State of Wyoming has chosen to 'protect' its vital records for a very long time.
But all is not lost! There are many resources available to researchers and hopefully I will be able to identify them for you here. And if you see I am missing something, please send me a message!
According to the State of Wyoming's Department of Health web page, the following information is given:
- Birth records are on file since July 1909.
- Death records are on file since July 1909.
- Marriage and divorce records are on file since May 1941
Additionally they state: After fifty years (50 years) from the date
of the event these records may be obtained by anyone providing
enough information to locate the record in question. After
one hundred years (100 years) birth certificates will be
located and distributed, if enough information is provided.
Wonderful volunteers have taken the time to transcribe various records for USGenWeb use. This is a list, with links, to those records for Converse County WY.
There is not much information available for 'early' Converse County WY.
