Researching in Converse County WY is not an easy task. The State of Wyoming has chosen to 'protect' its vital records for a very long time.

But all is not lost! There are many resources available to researchers and hopefully I will be able to identify them for you here. And if you see I am missing something, please send me a message!

Converse County WY Vital Records

According to the State of Wyoming's Department of Health web page, the following information is given:

  • Birth records are on file since July 1909.
  • Death records are on file since July 1909.
  • Marriage and divorce records are on file since May 1941

Additionally they state: After fifty years (50 years) from the date of the event these records may be obtained by anyone providing enough information to locate the record in question. After one hundred years (100 years) birth certificates will be located and distributed, if enough information is provided.

Military Information

The Micah J. Jenkins Camp No. 164, Sons of Spanish American War Veterans Organization has provided a Roster of Company F of the 1st Wyoming Volunteer Infantry Battalion from the Spanish-American War, 1898 to 1899.
