Jan 2 in 1897, John Nolen received the deed to his
homestead land, which he would soon sell off in pieces to form the
townsite of Kaycee, Wyoming. Nolen was known to be a friend to the
outlaws, often assisting their escapes from the law. The home he built
still stands today.
