(UPI)—A truck driver from Deaver was killed Friday when he careening oil tanker truck ran off the highway east of Moran Junction, overturned and exploded into a ball of fire. The burning wreckage of the truck also started a forest fire but slurry bombing planes brought the blaze under control quickly. The victim, Wyoming’s 79th highway fatality of the year, was identified by the Wyoming Highway Patrol as Ivan Cozzena, age unknown. Last year by the same date, 69 persons had died on Wyoming highways. Eyewitnesses told the patrol the truck was going down a hill, passed a car and went out of control, running off the road. The patrol said the accident happened about 10 miles east of Moran Junction on U.S. 26. The accident was on one of the most scenic routes leading into Yellowstone National Park. --- Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner, Jul 24, 1965 Man’s Body Is Found Under Debris of Flood Body of a man, apparently Mr. Woodruff, who has been missing since floods of June 10 washed out Sheep Creek Canyon and drowned seven members of his family, was found Friday at 11 a.m., James Bossi, district forest ranger, reported. The man’s body, fifth of the seven to be located, was found under debris and logs, two miles below Palisade Camp Ground by a Forest Service Engineering crew. Dick Bennett, Utah State Fish Department, and Sheriff Ken Reed of Daggett County, were to take the man’s body to the Forest Service office in Manila Friday evening. Bossi gave full credit to Bennett, who has been operating a bulldozer and truck during the extensive, but heart-breaking, search. Still missing in the heaped-high debris of the completely destroyed canyon are Karen Woodruff, about 1 ½ years old, daughter of Mr. Woodruff; and a Swenson boy, 13, nephew of the man. Already located earlier were the bodies of Randy Swenson, 15, of Salt Lake City, brother of the missing youth; Mrs. Woodruff, and two children, Jerry 4, and Davis, 2. The Woodruff car reportedly was buried where the seven were camping and required four days to dig out. Pieces of the family trailer were scattered all through the canyon. Sixteen persons trapped in Sheep Creek Bay were evacuated by boat, or else remained, subsisting on provision provided by boat until a bridge was built for their leaving the location. Sheep Creek Canyon is about 50 miles south of Rock Springs. --- Ogden Standard Examiner, Jul 26, 1965 Modesto Zanoni Modesto (Mike) Zanoni, 84, of 3730 Riverdale Road, died this morning at his home of a heart attack.
