Sheridan County ObituariesWalker, OpalSheridan Press, October 9, 1961 Mrs. Opal Walker, 58, of 1055 South Sheridan Avenue, died Sunday at Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Champion's with the Rev. Harry E. Chapin, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan municipal cemetery. Mrs. Walker was born Aug. 26, 1903, in Oak, Neb., and came to Sheridan to make her home in 1920. She married Jay A. Walker June 16, 1923, in Sheridan. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth W. Walker of Sheridan and Darrell D. Walker of Laramie; one daughter, Joan Whyte of Escondido, Calif. Surviving brothers and sisters are Ethyl Watts, Sheridan; Florence Burkitt of Topeka, Kan.; Mona Lowery, Davenport, Neb.; Ruby Phillips, Powell; Grace Watt of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jack Allen of Buffalo. There are 10 grandchildren. |
