Body of Drowned Ranch Hand Not Yet Recovered

The body of Bill Montgomery, who drowned in the lower Tongue River Sunday, has not been recovered. Montgomery was employed on the ranch of Frank Richards.

G. Montgomery Dies At Hospital

George Montgomery, 69, died yesterday at Sheridan County Memorial hospital. Montgomery, a longtime area resident came to Wyoming in 1913 and was a retired rancher at the time of his death.

He was born In Mobeetie, Tex. Oct. 18, 1888.

One son and two brothers preceded him in death.

Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Montgomery of 144 North Gould; one daughter, Mrs. George Murdock, Ranchester; three brothers: James, Seattle Wash.; Robert, Smelterville, Ida.; Charles, Modesto, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. M.Hensley, Mrs. Z. Williams and Mrs. B. Powell, Canadian Tex.; Mrs. E. Bowder, Mrs. L. Parks, Eugene, Ore.; a grandson, Robert R. Murdock, Sheridan and two great grandchildren.

Champions are in charge of funeral arrangements which will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Harry E. Chapin of the First Christian church officiating. Burial will be In Sheridan municipal cemetery.

IRA MONTGOMERY DIES HERE MONDAY

Ira Vernon Montgomery of Ennis Mont. died Monday at the Sheridan County Memorial hospital following injuries received in an automobile accident near Wyola, Mont., five days ago, while enroute to Hardin.

The deceased, who was a ranch hand on the Jumping Horse Ranch near Ennis, was born in Wheeler county, Texas, about 30 years ago.

His only survivors in this region are his brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. George Montgomery of Sheridan.

The body has been taken to the Champion funeral home and the time of the services will be announced later.
