Lewis, Harry Wallace

Harry Wallace Lewis, 80, retired oil field employee, died at his home in Meeteetse Sunday morning. His home was at Sheridan for many years.

Funeral services will be held in Sheridan from Champion's drawing room at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. H. Washburn of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan municipal cemetery.

Mr. Lewis was born Sept. 1, 1881, in Bedford, Ia. He was married to Pauline Clardy in Craig, Colo., in 1918. Mr. Lewis lived at Linch for some time while employed with the Wyoming Well Service of Cody. He retired Jan. 1 of this year and since May, had been living in Meeteetse.

He is survived by seven children, Josephine Smith and John J. Lewis of Meeteetse, Betty Conner, Genevieve Moyer and Jane Durkee, Sheridan; Robert Lewis, Casper, and Ralph Lewis of Sheridan; one brother, Raymond Paul Lewis of Sheridan.

He is also survived by two sisters, Daisy L. Spear and Georgia O'Marr, both of Sheridan.

Two brothers and one sister have preceded him in death.

Lewis, Pauline A. Clardy

Longtime Story resident Pauline A. Lewis, 89, died Tuesday at Eventide of Sheridan.

Born, Nov. 11, 1900, in Miles City, Mont., to John D. and Ida M. Clardy, she attended Taylor School in Sheridan, graduated from high school in Dixon, and attended the University of Wyoming.

She married Harry W. Lewis on Aug. 19, 1918, in Craig, Colo.

Mrs. Lewis was a private home nurse and a ceramics artist. Her artwork was displayed at R.A. Ceramics and Sheridan College.

She enjoyed her family, reading, sewing, and knitting. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961; a grandchild, Jerry Durkee; and a great-grandchild, Brenda Durkee.

Survivors include three sons, John R. Lewis, Meeteetse, Robert W. Lewis, Casper, and Ralph H. Lewis, Lakeport, Calif.; four daughters, Jenny Moyer, Betty Conner, and Jane Durkee, all of Sheridan, and Josephine Smith, Meeteetse, a brother, John W.Clardy, Hanford, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, the Rev. Ted Tromble officiating, with arrangements by Champion Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit donor's choice in care of Mary Lee Corley, First Interstate Bank of Commerce.
