Sheridan County ObituariesGarretson, Cloe MitchellSheridan Press, December 27, 2000 BUFFALO Cloe Garretson, 85, a former Clearmont resident, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Sheridan Manor in Sheridan. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Joe Keys officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Garretson was born May 4, 1915, in Huntsville, Ark., to William T. and Annie Stroud Mitchell. She attended school in Arkansas and moved with her family to Wyoming where she attended school at Yorky Gap and graduated from Clearmont High School in 1933. She married Louie Garretson Sept. 22, 1934, in Hardin, Mont. They moved to Worland, where he worked in the Holly Sugar Company laboratory through the fall and winter. During the spring and summer months, they would move back to Clearmont where he worked in the Garretson Grocery Store. Mrs. Garretson worked at the Red Arrow Cafe in Clearmont for several years. In 1952, she began working as a clerk at the Clearmont Post Office and continued there until her retirement in 1989. Mr. Garretson died in 1983, and she continued to live in Clearmont until 1992, when she moved to Sheridan. She became a resident of Sheridan Manor in 1996, where she lived until the time of her death. She was a member of the Clearmont Womens Club and held several of their offices. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, the Wheel of Fortune and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include one son, Jerry, of Torrance, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen Spellman of Arvada; three brothers, Cecil Mitchell of Littlerock, Calif.; Bob Mitchell of Walla Walla, Wash., and Roy Mitchell of Conroe, Texas; two sisters, Doris Robinette and Dixie Campbell, both of Sheridan; one grandson, Greg Garretson of Torrance; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Ruth Harnish. Memorials are suggested to the Clearmont Community Center Foundation in care of Adams Funeral Home, 351 N.
