Resources at the Wyoming State Archives

|
- BUSINESSES AND CORPORATIONS
- Incorporation records filed with county clerks and inactive corporation files of
the Wyoming Secretary of State are included in the Archives' collections. Some
licensing records from county clerk offices, as well as county assessor tax
assessment rolls are also available. Business directories for some communities
are available. A number of businesses and commercial organizations have donated
their records.
-
- MINING
- Many old claim records and minutes of mining districts were filed with the
county clerks and are available at the Archives. The reports of the
office of the State Mine Inspector are also maintained. These include production
reports for the state's coal mines, tabulated information on the mines, and
reports on accidents. The Wyoming Mining Association collection contains
publications dealing with mining issues affecting the industry in recent
decades.

Personal research is also a
popular activity at the State Archives. Many county and state records are used
by people working on family history, tracking the chain of title to their
property, renovating a commercial building or residence, or other research
projects.
The Archives' historical photograph collection, oral histories, and numerous
books and serial publications can also be used to research these topics.
