III QueryEliza Jane BURTON was born in Winterset, Madison, Iowa on the 2nd of November 1870. Her family moved to Box Butte County somewhere between Mar 1883 and Oct 1885. Her parents were William Taylor BURTON and Mahala Ann SMITH. We know that she was married to at least 4 men in her life time. The first marriage was to Tom EUBANKS who was born in abt. 1868 in Northville, Tennessee. We believe they were married in about 1889. They had one child, Truman EUBANKS who was born in Lawn(I believe called Hemmingford now), Box Butte, Nebraska on the 17th of July 1890. Truman died in Dec 1966 in Stevensville, Ravalli, Montana. My Aunt Cora Herring Lough believed that Tom was a "gambler" and was killed in Thermopolis, Hot Springs, Wyoming. He supposedly died in a gun fight. I'm not sure if that was in 1890 or 1891 that this happened or if Eliza Jane divorced him before this happened, we are unsure. We do know that Eliza Jane was married on the 2nd of October of 1891 to Isham K. JOHNSTON in Box Butte, Nebraska. We think she was divorced from Isham. Isham was born in Dearborn County, Indiana in abt. 1856. As far as I know Eliza Jane and Isham had no children together. From my Aunt Cora's records we have Eliza Jane marrying two more times. She supposedly married an E.J. BERG in abt. 1910. Then she married again to a Roy ALLOWAY in abt. 1925. Eliza Jane died in Seattle, Washington on the 4th of March 1958. E.J. BERG and Eliza Jane may have married in Thermopolis, Wyoming. I think they would have married before 1911 and so it would have still been in Fremont County. If anyone can help me find information on Eliza Jane or her 4 husbands I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much for the opportunity to post this information. Submitter:

Christine Schutz QueryLooking for the family of my ggrandmother, Mary STEFFY Roberts b. ? (probably 1870's) in Indiana or Missouri. She married Charles Roberts and lived and raised a family in Missouri.(He was born in Indiana)They had four children including Grace Roberts Crass, my grandmother who moved to OK>CA. My Aunt, Vera Crass Pitts remembers some of Mary STEFFY's family moving to Riverton, WY. (Possibly Marys brother, who received a head injury at the time of the move and suffered from amnesia.) Also remembers him coming to visit while the Crass family were in OK. Grace Roberts Crass, husband Dave and children, moved on to CA around 1928 or 29. They raised 6 children. She passed away in 1969. I have been working my families genealogy for a number of years but only recently found out about the possible STEFFY/Riverton connection. Would very much appreciate hearing from anyone who might be familiar with any STEFFY's that have lived in or around Riverton during the 1900's. Happy to share information, and photos of Mary, her husband and children. Submitter:

Myers QueryI am interested in finding my father's biological mother and father and his siblings. My father's name is George F. Westbrook, II which is the name he was given after being adopted by Olga and George Westbrook. He was born on Nov. 12th, 1930 in Lander, Wyoming by a very young woman. His adoptive mother, Olga was a nurse in the hospital where my father was born. His adoptive father was a banker. My father was raised in Lander, Wyoming until he was twelve years old. His adoptive father died when my father was twelve so Olga moved to California with my father. I don't have a name of his biological mother. My father's biological parents had more children after my father was adopted which were not put up for adoption. I was hoping someone might know something about this adoption. Of course, this is the information my grandmother (Olga Westbrook) has given us. I don't know how accurate it is. My father is still alive and well today and does not know of my search. Submitter:

I am also searching for his sister Gertrude Younkin and her husband George. They had three children Francis, Cloy and Verna. They supposedly resided in the Riverton area in the 1930's and 40's.
