Many of the early citizens of Albany County owned ranches. This list is
compiled from many sources. I need your help to make it more complete. If you
know of a ranch in Albany County not on the list,
please
email me! Most of the ranches in
Albany County have changed hands many times. Few are still owned by the
descendants of early settlers. The ranchers were an important part of county
history. Schools were held at the kitchen tables, they were a source of
livelihood, employment, recreation in the area. They are a key to the surnames
in Albany County. Corrections, additions, and comments are welcome!
